The Littlehampton Concert Band are going to Antwerp in 2012

We've done France, Germany and even the Isle of Wight. Now, the Littlehampton Concert Band is going to Belgium to delight them with our music. Antwerp is our destination during the half term break in June 2012.
We're still in the early stages or organisation but thanks to the hard work of Jan de Landtsheer and John Howes, things are coming together nicely and we've got a good agenda for the trip including 2 performances, boat trip, visit to a market and, most importantly, a pub crawl.
We've had some great trips in the past which have always been loads of fun so this is going to be great. If you're a band member, you MUST SIGN UP as soon as possible as spaces are limited (see below for details).
Dates
Thursday 7th June 2012 to Sunday 10th June 2012
Travel
Coach from Littlehampton - Leaving around 8am from Littlehampton (tbc). Estimated arrival time back in Littlehampton is between 6:30pm and 7pm on Sunday 10th June 2012.
Accommodation
The trip includes 3 night's accommodation at the Ibis Hotel in central Antwerp and price includes breakfast. On the right is a little video of the hotel.
We have provisionally booked the rooms but we do need to know the number of people who are likely to come as soon as possible including their room preferences. Please check your emails for the link to the booking form. Alternatively, speak to Bob or Jan at rehearsals so we can organise this.
Itinerary
We're putting together a fun trip with lots going on. It's still taking shape but provisionally it looks a little like this:-
Thursday 7th June 2012:
Travel to Antwerp by coach for which the trip will take around 6 hours which will include a lunch stop in Veurne en-route. Once we arrive mid-afternoon, there will be time to explore the town, we'll enjoy a meal then have a relaxing evening.
Friday 8th June 2012:
We'll start the day with a rehearsal in the morning ready for an evening performance. After a spot of lunch, a boat trip has been organised around the Antwerp docks which are one of the biggest and the most efficient docks in the world. In the evening, we'll be performing a joint concert with the Band't Heremenieke which should be great fun.
Saturday 9th June 2012:
In the morning, there will be a sight seeing walk in the morning with time for lots of shopping. In the afternoon, we'll put on another performance, this time in the Groenplaats bandstand. In the evening, a tour of local, traditional beverage retailers (pub-crawl) sampling some selected Belgian tipples and maybe having a go at some traditional dancing.
Sunday 10th June 2012:
The morning will be spent nursing a hangover and a trip to a local market to stock up on souvenirs. We'll then enjoy some lunch before out journey home. The estimated arrival time back in Littlehampton is between 6:30pm and 7pm.
Other info
Costs are £210 per person based on a shared room or £270 based on a single room. Deposits of £50 are due by the end of 2011. Balances due by March 2012 please.
